Bar:
Q: What's the best way
to search the entire site at once?
A: The default setting
of "all / by date, newfirst / 8 per page"
with a search term in the text box, will yield every
pertinent instance of the search term.
For example: Using the default setting and typing in
James Brown will return Album reviews, interviews where
his name was mentioned and mixes where a song of his
was played.
Q: How do I search the RESOURCE
by genre?
A: Select 'resource' from
the first pull down menu, 'by genre' from the second
pulldown menu, and enter any of the following genre
in the text box:
- blues
- easy listening
- experimental
- folk
- funk
- jazz
- latin
- reggae
- religious
- rock
- soul
- soundtracks
- world
- miscellaneous
Q: How do I search the REVIEWS
by genre?
A: Select 'reviews' from
the first pull down menu, 'by genre' from the second
pulldown menu, and enter any of the following genre
inthe text box:
- downtempo
- electronic
- funk
- hip-hop (must be spelled using a dash)
- jazz
- latin
- soul
Downtempo, Instrumental hiphop and comps like REWIND!
and Blue Note Revisited will be located under 'downtempo.'
Broken beat, Electronic and Nu-Jazz will be located
under 'electronic.'
Most of what we review will fallunder the 'Hip-Hop'
or Downtempo categories.
Rare Groove reissues and related comps will be located
under their respective categories (ie: Arthur Verocai
= Latin, Bay Area Funk = Funk)
